The PHCU Coordinator will work closely with County Health Officer of Ayod County to supervise Primary Health Care facilities. To ensure that the health services are provided in accordance to South Sudan ministry of health guidelines and that there is a planned capacity building of the national facility staff is in place and implemented by the senior health staff to community Health Workers and Community midwives/ TBA’s and to the staff working under them. The incumbent will also be actively involved in planning and managing the implementation of the health services in all health facilities. PHCU Coordinator must have good curative skills (diagnostic and nursing), management and interpersonal skills, reporting and analytical expertise, and able to troubleshoot problems and together with the team working there develop solutions to the challenges encountered..Will also be expected to work closely with the nutrition supervisor and the Nutrition assistants to ensure that the Community Health and Nutrition Programme work is monitored and documented timely and will report any facility maintenance issues to the supervisor.
Key Duties
• Jointly plan for the operationalizing the planned, accessible and operational health facilities in Ayod County.
• Schedule the supervision in the accessible and operational facilities in coordination with the Emergency Health Response Coordinator, CHD, and other staff directly managing clinic based health staff.
• Ensure that the daily data collection from the facilities is well documented within the MOH reporting templates, and the DHIS. This would include and not limited to morbidity and attendance, RH, Mass Deworming and vitamin “A” Supplementation, Vaccination and mortality that will be continuously be collected by the Community health and nutrition assistants.
• Assist the emergency response coordinator and the CHD in the collection and compilation of all Health Information Systems (HIS) Data and interpretation and application of the same in order to improve programme activities at the field level.
• Work with the Health Coordinator/CHD to manage any disease outbreak that may occur in Ayod County.
• Jointly, with the Health Coordinator, liaise with the Nutrition team in the planning and incorporation of clinic and soft WASH and health awareness needs.
• Closely coordinate with the Health Coordinator/CHD in clinic construction and maintenance activities.
• Act on behalf of Health Coordinator whenever the incumbent is not in Ayod County.
• Any other duties that are within your scope and as assigned by COSV.
Requirements:
- South Sudanese national.
- Diploma in nursing or equivalent
- At least three years working experience.
- Relevant experience in Nutrition management, or working in SC is an asset.
- Good reporting skills.
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- IT literate
- Knowledge of Arabic.
