he Oxfam Confederation is made up of 17 Oxfam affiliates (including Oxfam GB) working across 92 countries. In 2009, all Oxfam affiliates decided to work more closely together as a global movement for change. Oxfam GB has been working in South Sudan since 1983. We aim to overcome poverty and inequality through the most effective, appropriate and enduring solutions. Oxfam’s institutional mandate is therefore threefold; development work, emergency humanitarian relief work & policy advocacy work. Oxfam South Sudan is currently implementing humanitarian response programs and Development Programmes in different parts of the country. In support of this we are looking for an experienced OI Logistics Coordinator to provide strategic overview in Logistics.

The Role

The OI Logistics Coordinator in cooperation with the Oxfam Logistics Merger Support Manager will provide direct support and coordination of two Country Logistics Managers. Your role will involve maintaining an overview of the logistics needs of the South Sudan programme; working with programme team to identify and develop strategies to meet the identified needs. You will also ensure the logistics function is delivering timely, cost-effective, high quality and appropriate support; and supporting field teams in achieving and maintaining minimum standards in logistics work.

You will manage, monitor and report on all logistics processes including supply, planning, procurement/purchasing, custom clearing and shipping, warehousing, assets, fleet, engines and communications, as well as related administrative procedures. You will actively participate in coordinating and supporting on building of a common logistics management system in South Sudan as part of the overall merger project. In addition you will manage the logistics staff across all affiliates and provide support and training.

The Person

To be successful in this role you will have a degree in related field with proven work experience of supporting large-scale emergency responses in a complex humanitarian environment with an international or multinational organization. You will have a well developed interpersonal and team skills and proven ability to be flexible in demanding situations. You will have good communication skills coupled with diplomacy, tact and ability to remain calm under pressure.
