INTERSOS, in the framework of its activities in Somalia,is selecting candidates for the position of:

JOB TITLE: Child Protection Project Manager

DUTY STATION: South Central and Puntland (60%), Nairobi (40%).

Starting Date:ASAP

Duration:6 months

ROLE, TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Child Protection Project Manager will manage an Identification, Documentation, Tracing and Reunification (IDTR) project in 4 locations of Somalia. He/she will have the overall responsibility of the implementation of project activities in a timely manner, monitoring and evaluation of the project, conduct trainings and will support the field offices.

Specifically the Child Protection Project Manager is responsible to:

Ø Ensure Coordination with Protection Department.

Ø Provide project management for the CHF project.

Ø Provide technical advice, training and mentoring for staff on protection technical aspects and databases and adherence to data protection protocols.

Ø Compile Quality timely reporting for submission to Protection Coordinator for submission to Somalia Programme manager or Head of Mission.

Ø Budget holder for the Project and responsible for the overall financial management of the protection department.

Ø Represent INTERSOS in partner and Donor Meetings.

Ø Ensure coordination and proper implementation at field level.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Ø Master degree in Social Science, Community Development, Psychology or Social Work and/or equivalent practical field experience, preferably with a humanitarian organisation;

Ø Minimum 3 years professional experience in protection/GBV/CP programming, technical focus on Protection, women and girls in conflict affected areas, children affected by armed conflict and other technical aspects of Child Protection;

Ø Previous experience humanitarian project management and coordination is required;

Ø Excellent organisational, teambuilding and participatory training skills and experience is required, as well as ability to work as part of a team;

Ø Project Management skills, including financial planning;

Ø Experience in psychosocial support, case management and alternative care for children.

Ø Good interpersonal skills to work effective with different stakeholders including different communities in the target areas, humanitarian actors, service providers, local and national authorities;

Ø Excellent organisational, teambuilding and participatory training skills and experience is required, as well as ability to work as part of a team;

Ø Project Management skills, including financial planning and documentation;

Ø Fluency in written and spoken English, good reporting writing and communication skills is required;

Ø Good problem solving and social skills and creative, to think of alternative solutions;

Ø Computer literate (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access);

Ø Gender-sensitive and advocate for women, children and minority rights;

Ø Ability to travel frequently to different areas in Somalia working in stressful situations and at times, in hardship field locations.
