OBJECTIVES OF THE CONSULTANCY
The objective of this consultancy is to develop financial and asset management tools and templates that will aid in preparation of periodic organizational financial reports that will inform decision making by the management.
The consultant will undertake key tasks as listed below:
DELIVERABLES
1) Developed an organizational Finance Management report for Quarter 1 (Jan-March 2016)
2) Developed Financial reporting tools and templates
3) Trained/orientated Finance staff on the tools and templates
4) Developed a BioSIM (Start-Up) financial business Model and a 12 months financial projections
5) Conducted an asset management and documentation plan that includes disposal of obsolete ones
6) Conducted a Finance Department Capacity Assessment and developed a Capacity Improvement Plan
ACTIVITIES
The consultant is responsible for working with the ICL finance department to ensure that the following key tasks are accomplished:-
1) Develop financial reporting tools and templates to help in monthly and quarterly reporting for the organization (2 days)
2) Prepare a financial management report for quarter 1 January- March 2016 for both the organization’s grants portfolio and products sections(2 days)
3) Train the staff in financial department on use of the reporting tools and build their capacity in generating reports(3 Days)
4) Review the current asset management policy and develop tools that help in asset verification and documentation of the same. (3 days)
REQUIREMENTS
- A Master’s degree or above in related field
- Over 10 years’ Experience in financial management of Donor funded programs
- Those with experience in financial management reporting for corporate sector have an added advantage
- Demonstrable experience of working on similar assignments
- Able to reliably access the Internet
- Available for meetings on short notice.
TIME FRAME
The proposed timeline for this consultancy work is over a period not exceeding 10 days and the timeframe for deadlines should be considered as fixed.
