Job Title; ICS Programme Officer (Host Home Focus)
Location Rwanda, Kigali Office, ICS Project and Host Home community locations
Salary: Band 1 – 12,370,622 – 15,664,419 RWF
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week
Tenure: Fixed term to 31 August 2018 (linked to ICS Funding).
International Service is a UK based development charity which works in Africa, South America and the occupied Palestinian territory and is delighted to be now opening an office in Rwanda.
We promote the rights and opportunities of vulnerable people, and support the development of local organisations and communities through capacity building and empowering local people to create sustainable change.
We are part of a group of International Development Agencies who deliver the DFID funded International Citizen Service (ICS). ICS brings together young volunteers from in country and the UK to work with International Service and our local Implementation Partners on their projects.
During their 12 week placement ICS volunteers stay with “host families” in the local community and with the creation of a new team in Rwanda we have a vacancy for an ICS Programme Officer whose role is to identify and support those host families, and work with the wider team to ensure volunteer’s placements are safe, rewarding for the volunteers and make a positive development impact.
Applicants are required to have a good standard of education and be competent with ICT, together with having effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda. They should have experience of working or volunteering in development and have a commitment to International Service’s vision and values.
