Expert for Logistics (m/f)
in Juba, South Sudan
The post is to be filled by 1 April 2016, initially for 12 months. The office is located in Juba, South Sudan
Objectives and responsibilities of the position
As Expert for Logistics, you are responsible for organising and implementing procurement and warehouse activities at the Juba location within the specified organisational, scheduling, contractual and financial guidelines.
Your most important duties are as follows:
- Ensure orderly material resources planning in coordination with the project managers at the locations and the project administrators
- Procurement activities
- Vehicle fleet management
- Establishment and supervision of warehouse management of relief items and other materials (incoming/outgoing, regular stock-taking, fresh supplies)
- Documentation in accordance with Welthungerhilfe standards and the respective specifications and requirements of the project and co-financers
Transport management
Support and advise national staff with regard to logistics issues
Your qualifications will include:
A university or polytechnic degree in logistics, technical college degree or qualifications that are commensurate with this position
Several years of project and coordination experience in carrying out emergency aid and development projects of international (aid) agencies - preferably in the region
Strong IT-skills
Coordination and organisational skills - even under a high workload
A very good command of English
A good regional knowledge
Willingness to travel in the region
