International Resources Group (IRG), an Engility Company, seeks an experienced Chief of Party (COP) to manage an anticipated USAID-funded Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)program in Zambia. Program objectives include, but are not limited to, WASH initiatives centered on school-led water, sanitation and hygiene education, menstrual hygiene management, behavior change, and institutional strengthening. The Chief of Party will be responsible for overall implementation and oversight of the project; provide overall technical, program management, administrative and financial management leadership; review and monitor contract reporting and deliverables; oversee the recruitment and engagement of technical staff; and work in close coordination with the IRG home office, relevant USAID personnel, and project partners.The COP will be based in Zambia, with extensive in-country travel required. This is a contingent position based on funding from the customer.
MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field required, such as public health, international development, environmental science, planning, engineering, and/or business administration.
- Minimum of 10 years management experience on large, complex, and multi-faceted donor-funded projects; USAID project management experience highly desired
- Minimum of 5 years of Chief of Party (COP) or equivalent experience.
- Zambia or Southern Africa regional experience required.
- Demonstrated knowledge or technical proficiency in rural WASH activities, community led total sanitation, behavior change promotion, hygiene education programming, and/or private sector WASH capacity building.
- Excellent communication, representational and team leadership skills.
- Fluency in English required.
