Save the Children seeks a Director of community health to ensure day to day efficient and effective implementation of the components of the community health programme at the central level and in the provinces of Nampula and Sofala. The Director (a) Community health is one of the two positions of technical Directorate and is responsible to provide leadership and supervision in key technical areas of the project, specifically in the areas of the Community programme, immunization, adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH), and water and sanitation (WASH). He must have a good knowledge of service delivery, capacity-building and training of these technical areas, as well as of the main Mozambican health strategies. He/she will be a mentor and technical Directorate of the Provincial Community health teams in Nampula and Sofala. He (a) is a member of the senior management team and will be responsible for ensuring the technical integrity and the implementation of the community component of the project.Master's degree in public health, or doctorate in health or social sciences (preferred); with basic training in the area of health (consitui edge); 10 years of experience in developing, implementing, monitoring or evaluation of programs related to child health, newly born, child in the community; reproductive health of adolescents, and/or water and sanitation programs, preferably in Mozambique or southern Africa; Proven skills in designing programs, supervision, monitoring, evaluation and research; Proven skills in managing complex programs of health and development with multiple interventions in collaboration with national health ministries, international partners and local government; Commitment to produce high quality and timely results; Demonstrated leadership and management skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with a diverse team. Excellent writing and presentation skills; Fluent in Portuguese (spoken and written) necessary; strong skills in English (verbal and written) necessary; Previous experience in interacting with u.s Agencies with the Governments of the host countries and with other global and national partners; Availability to national and international voyages commitment to Save the Children's vision, mission and values is an advantage;
