Country: South Sudan
Closing date: 11 Dec 2015
GENERAL FUNCTION
The Media Partnerships Manager (MPM) coordinates Internews’ diverse media development initiatives in South Sudan. This includes working with a wide variety of partners and sub-grantees , developing and managing ‘media initiatives’ or special projects, and providing general support to the South Sudan media sector. The MPM works closely with the Sub-Grants Coordinator in developing, selecting and managing a significant ‘small grants’ portfolio of South Sudanese organizations and media projects. Providing coordination, mentorship and close programmatic support to these local partners – many of them young and creative, but lacking in grants-management experience – will be carried out by the MPM. Special projects focusing on issues such as innovation, media literacy or self-expression will also be managed directly by the MPM and will require close oversight and implementation. The MPM will be the focal point for Internews’ relationships and partnerships with various media sector actors in South Sudan, and in this capacity will frequently represent Internews at events and coordination bodies.
