D-tree International is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of health care available to the world’s poor by using hand held technology to provide accurate and effective point-of-care diagnosis and treatment. Our vision is to equip frontline health workers with the tools they need to deliver first-class, evidence-based medical care to all patients. We are pursuing this vision by putting easy to use guidelines for diagnosis and treatment on mobile phones for use by health workers. The symptom-based protocols guide the user through a series of questions leading to an accurate diagnosis and treatment for each patient.

We are seeking a full time Project Manager for our mobile health projects in Tanzania, who will be supporting both our community and facility based implementations. The position will be based in Dar es Salaam with frequent travel to implementation field sites.

We seek a candidate who is motivated, interested in health care and technology, open to innovative ideas and technology, efficient, eager to work hard and a team player. The position will require working closely with health workers, district and clinic level supervisors, partner organizations and the D-tree team to implement the programs. Other responsibilities will include managing various aspects of project implementation including leading a team to meet goals, tracking deliverables and objectives. Person must be comfortable in multiple roles including: representing D-tree with stakeholders, leading project design processes, specifying application prototypes, refining tools, developing training materials and overseeing the training of health workers and managers, communications with internal stakeholders, performing data analysis and meeting with senior personnel from the government and NGO partners.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a candidate who is willing to take on any task required to make our projects successful. This will include:

· Working with the Country Director, Program Manager and other staff to design new projects and write proposals

· Develop and adjust project strategies and work plans to ensure project success

· Own project objectives and ensure staff and partners are kept on track to achieve results

· Develop application specifications including flowcharts and detailed protocols

· Write reports for donors/partners on progress of projects

· Present project highlights at meetings and forums/conferences

· Develop and foster effective working relationship with Government representatives from at least the regional level to the grassroots level

· Identify relevant organizations and establish strategic alliances to explore areas for collaboration and expanding and strengthening program impact

· Communicate effectively through available forums at regional, district, ward and village level the position or/and role of D-tree International Tanzania

· Represent D-tree to senior government officials/personnel and with NGO partners

· Coordinate health worker and supervisor activities

· Plan facility and community deployments, including initial training and follow-up sessions

· Test phone applications

· Prepare phones for trainings & troubleshooting after deployment

· Coordinate and problem solve larger technical issues
