SHORT-TERM EDUCATION CONSULTANT – Kisumu, kenya

1) GENERAL BACKGROUND

At SOS Children’s Villages (SOS CV), we believe that the best place for children to develop to their full potential is within a caring environment. We work to make this a reality. We are a social development organization working in the areas of childcare, education and health. The Eastern & Southern Africa Office has organized a Meeting to share best practices on Financially Sustainable Models in Primary Schools in Rural and Urban Slum settings in Africa.

For SOS CV as organization this is an important topic because of the current developments of aligning SOS primary schools with the target group. Whereby SOS schools were normally financed with subsidies and/or (higher) school fees, now the question is how can schools be made (more) financial sustainable in a different way? And in addition what role could SOS CV play as an NGO with a lot of expertise in education, on enhancing (a part of) the quality in existing schools in the community with a financial sustainable model? In this regard, we are seeking a local consultant with experience in primary education.
